Actalent is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) for a hybrid role in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will help patients access specialty medications, verify insurance, and support the pharmacy team to ensure accurate, timely deliveries.

This position offers a mix of remote and onsite work after training, Monday–Friday hours, and opportunities for growth within a patient-focused specialty pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prescription refills and shipments with patients and caregivers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and build patient relationships.
• Support medication adherence and therapy continuity.
• Process new prescriptions and refill requests.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and payment options.
• Document patient interactions and treatment updates.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, providers, and offices.
• Track shipments and order status.
• Maintain accurate patient and prescription records.
• Assist with medication fulfillment and pharmacy operations.

What You'll Do

As a Patient Care Coordinator / Pharmacy Technician , you'll be a key member of the patient support team, helping ensure patients receive their specialty medications accurately and on time. Responsibilities include:

• - Tracking shipments, deliveries, and order status updates

• - Assisting with medication fulfillment and pharmacy operations
• - Utilizing pharmacy software systems and Microsoft Excel to support workflows and reporting
• - Ensuring patients receive medications and supplies accurately and efficiently

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• - Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
• - National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
• - Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience
• - High School Diploma or GED
• - Strong communication and customer service skills- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• - Specialty pharmacy experience
• - Prior authorization knowledge
• - Patient access, reimbursement, or benefits investigation experience
• - Healthcare call center experience
• - Experience using pharmacy systems or healthcare technology platforms

Training Period

After Training

• - Monday-Friday
• - Schedules between:
• - 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• - 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• - 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Hybrid Schedule

• - 2 days onsite
• - 3 days remote

Compensation

Pay Rate: $23-$25/hr

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
