Job summary

RK Logistics Group, Inc. is seeking a Lead I to oversee safety, productivity and performance of their shift's operational team. The role includes strategic planning, project management, and cross‑department coordination to drive operational excellence.

You will mentor staff, drive Lean and 5S improvements, manage scheduling, and ensure quality standards while escalating issues to supervisors. Experience in logistics and SAP is preferred, with forklift certification a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of logistics or related field.
• Strong math, writing, and communication skills.
• Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of inventory control, shipping/receiving, and RF equipment.
• Forklift certification/experience (Sit-Down and Stand-Up).
• Lean, 5S, and 7S knowledge.
• Strong time management and soft skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to meet high volume demand.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve goals.
• May need to use light power tools.

Responsibilities

• Mentor team members and provide advanced training.
• Lead by example in professionalism and punctuality.
• Foster a positive team attitude to maintain productivity.
• Support onboarding and continuous training efforts.
• Delegate tasks and monitor performance to meet daily quotas.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and productivity goals.
• Assist in scheduling and resource allocation to optimize workflow.
• Monitor departmental emails and respond promptly.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and 5S principles.
• Conduct performance analysis and report findings to senior management.
• Run daily reports and address discrepancies.
• Support monthly inventory counts and maintain records.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve operational issues.
• Maintain customer relationships and serve as a point of contact.
• Communicate effectively with engineers and stakeholders.
• Manage inbound/outbound shipments and material transactions.
• Monitor ticketing systems and SAP (RTS, NCI, SRK, etc.).
• Oversee inventory and ordering of crates, boxes, and cleanroom bags.
• Sign timecards and run RMBWA reports.
• Provide teams with information about quality, safety, delivery, cost, and morale.
• Assist the Supervisor in policy adherence and productivity standards.
• Ensure processes run smoothly and workers stay safe.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Navigate WMS to check material location.
• Assess and analyze current practices and drive improvements.
• Coordinate with management and peers to resolve issues.
• Complete all other duties assigned.
