Job summary

Associated Grocers is hiring an Inbound Expeditor for overnight shifts to support the receiving team. You will prepare receiving documents, communicate discrepancies, and monitor inbound freight flow from carriers using Warehouse Management Systems and Managed Receiving.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with limited related experience, strong attention to detail, and ability to work overnight. We offer a competitive benefits package and a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Related experience or training preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to warehouse processes.

Responsibilities

• Print receiving documents based on receiving schedule.
• Review delivery documents for driver signature and reconcile PO to BOL for discrepancies.
• Receive inbound freight for correct item and quantity per PO and BOL.
• Inspect for damages and infestation; report accordingly.
• Perform basic Label Control Clerk functions; print and release orders for selection.
• Check trailer and product temperatures for compliance.
• Communicate discrepancies to procurement.
• Identify issues affecting unload times and incentives.
• Utilize Managed Receiving to manage inbound freight.
• Follow all safety and sanitation rules and food safety procedures.

We are currently seeking an Inbound Expeditor to assist the receiving team by preparing receiving documents, communicating discrepancies, and monitoring the flow of inbound freight from common carriers using Warehouse Management Systems and Managed Receiving. Overnight opportunity with open ended shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal customer service skills.
• Print receiving documents based on receiving schedule.
• Review delivery documents for driver signature and reconcile the purchase order to the bill of lading for overages, shortages and damages.
• Receive inbound freight for correct item and quantity per the purchase order and bill of lading.
• Inspect for damages and infestation, Report accordingly.
• Perform basic Label Control Clerk functions, such as printing and releasing orders for selection.
• Check for correct temperature of trailer and product.
• Communicate discrepancies to procurement.
• Identify and communicate any issues that will cause incentive loads to exceed agreed upon timeframes regarding unload time and overages, shortages and damages.
• Utilize Managed Receiving to manage inbound freight.
• Comply with all safety and sanitation rules, regulations, and guidelines. Responsible for following all food safety procedures established by the site.
• Monitor the third-party personnel working in your area.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
