Job summary

HonorVet Technologies in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Technical Support- In Vivo/ Serology Lab Technician to support GMP-compliant nonclinical research workflows.

Under supervision, you will perform specimen receipt, preparation and testing, immunoassays (ELISA, IFA), hemagglutination, data entry and routine housekeeping, with a focus on accuracy and safety. The role requires lab experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• AA/AS or equivalent in Biological Sciences or related discipline.
• 1–2 years of related laboratory experience.
• Equivalent combo of education and experience may be accepted.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; strong organizational, prioritization, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab activities including reagent prep, maintenance and routine testing of client samples.
• Immunoassay methods: ELISA, IFA.
• Hemagglutination.
• Assist in receipt of samples to be tested.
• Prepare data forms for serology testing; record assay parameters per protocol.
• Ensure proper sample dilution.
• Operate and maintain pipettes.
• Assist in preparing media and diluents; proper labeling and storage.
• Ensure adequate supply of materials for assays.
• Maintain accurate raw data records per protocol and GMP.
• Assist interaction with project managers and staff in planning serology assays.
• Support IVB activities such as clinical observations, animal husbandry.
• Share housekeeping responsibilities and inventory management.
• Proficiency in all departmental SOPs; understand lab/production processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Title: Technical Support- In Vivo/ Serology Lab Technician

Location: Wilmington, MA

Shift: Monday-Friday 7am- 3:30pm

Description:

• Lab experience of at least 6 months
• Under direct supervision, perform specimen receipt, preparation and testing as specifled in IVB SOP and Protocols in compliance with GMP regulations as they apply to the conduct of nonclinical research.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory activities including but not limited to reagent preparation, laboratory maintenance and monitoring and routine testing of client samples.
• Immunoassay methods o ELISA o IFA
• Hemagglutination
• Assist In the receipt of samples to be tested
• Prepare data forms for routine serology testing, Record assay parameters as required by protocol.
• Ensure proper sample dilution is performed.
• Operate and maintain pipettes.
• May assist in the preparation of departmental media and diluents: including knowledge of proper labeling technique and storage conditions.
• Assist in ensuring adequate supply of materials required for assays.
• Ensure raw data records are accurate, complete, and in appropriate orderr and meet protocot specifications and/or GMP requirements.
• Assist in interaction with project managers and technical staff In planning and conduct of serology assays.
• May support core IVB activities such as clinical observations, animal husbandry Share responsibility for general housekeeping and maintaining appropriate inventory levels of departmental supplies.
• Responsible for proficiency in all departmental SOPs with general knowledge of the lab/production processes.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's degree (AA. IAS.) or equivalent in Biological Sciences or related discipline
• Experience: One to two years related technical experience in a laboratory environment.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory
• substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Other: Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong organizational and prioritization skills required, Attention to detail and accuracy a must. Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Able to communicate effectively in a small group or one on one setting

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to move about inside the laboratory, communicate and operate a computer.
• Must frequently be able to remain in a stationary position while performing laboratory tasks and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently and accurately operate laboratory pipettes.
• Regularly observes» inspects, and interprets laboratory experiments, requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus and detect and differentiate colors.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• White performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves* protective clothing and eye protection.

Work environment:

• General laboratory working conditions.
• Regularly wears protective clothing (cap, gloves, scrubs, lab coatF safety glasses).
• Works with biological samples with risk of exposure to, zoonotic disease» and biohazards.
• The employee may work with sharp objects (i.e. needles, glass pipettes, pipet tips).
• The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to moderate depending upon the task being performed.
