Job summary

Charles River is seeking an experienced Research Associate II in South San Francisco, CA to advance in vivo drug research. You will perform detailed animal laboratory techniques, collect data, and support study planning, ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with rodent handling, injections, tissue processing and euthanasia, plus strong record keeping and teamwork. Competitive hourly pay included.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a Life Science discipline is required.
• Two years of related work experience in laboratory animal husbandry is required.
• Alternative: Bachelor's in Life Science plus four years' experience or CVT/LVT/RVT certification.
• Alternative: High School diploma with six years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in in vivo laboratory techniques including blood collection, injections, tissue processing and euthanization.
• Document experimental data in notebooks or electronic files with results and variations.
• Maintain records of animal health and welfare and prepare data for project reports.
• Participate in experimental design, equipment setup and operation.
• Ensure procedures comply with protocols and regulatory/lab requirements.
• Train staff and manage small studies, communicating clearly with team members.
