In Store Sales – Backup CDL Delivery Driver
Location: Seattle, WA

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a customer service-oriented associate for our retail branch. Responsibilities include handling customer inquiries, selling products to walk-in and preferred customers, and occasionally delivering compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and related products to customer locations (local route). Backup drivers must handle freight during deliveries, prioritize safety, and deliver excellent customer service.

• Pay range: $22.64 - $33.20 hourly (dependent on experience)

Key responsibilities:

• Assist customers via phone orders, inquiries, order tracking, and issue resolution
• Assess and recommend products, promoting additional sales of hard goods and gases
• Conduct product demonstrations using customer insights to develop new offerings
• Support the Outside Sales team
• Maintain accurate customer records and account setup
• Perform warehouse duties, including moving cylinders
• Deliver products, making 10-12 stops daily, touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent service
• Count and record delivered and picked-up products accurately
• Complete hazardous material shipping documentation per DOT regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Identify vehicle maintenance needs
• Build relationships with internal and external customers to meet business and customer goals
• Continuously expand knowledge of Linde’s operations and success factors
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Customer service or counter sales experience; industrial setting preferred
• Knowledge of welding equipment is a plus
• No recent DUI/DWI or similar convictions
• At least 2 years of driving experience or recent certification from an accredited Truck Driving School
• Valid Class A or B CDL required
• Hazmat Endorsement preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days
• No preventable accidents or moving violations in past 2 years
• Pass DOT physical and obtain medical certification
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
• Proficient in reading and writing English
• 21 years or older
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Commitment to honesty, safety, and a positive work environment
