In Store Sales - Backup CDL Delivery Driver

Location: Chesapeake, VA

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a customer service-oriented associate to work in our retail branch. This role involves handling customer inquiries, selling products to walk-in and preferred customers, and occasionally delivering compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and related products to customer locations (local route). Backup drivers are expected to handle freight during deliveries, prioritize safety, and deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Assist customers via phone orders, inquiries, and tracking shipments; resolve customer issues
• Assess customer needs, recommend products, and promote sales of hard goods and gases
• Conduct product demonstrations, utilizing customer insights to develop new offerings
• Support the Outside Sales team
• Maintain accurate customer records, accounts, and pricing
• Perform warehouse duties, including moving cylinders as needed
• Deliver products, making 10-12 stops per day, handling freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service
• Count and record delivered and picked-up products accurately
• Complete hazardous material shipping paperwork per DOT regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Identify vehicle maintenance needs
• Build relationships with customers and internal teams to meet business and customer goals
• Continuously expand knowledge of Linde's operations to support growth
• Perform other duties as assigned
