Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a customer service-oriented associate for our retail branch. This role involves handling customer inquiries, selling products to walk-in and preferred customers, and occasionally delivering compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and related products to customer locations (local route). Backup drivers are expected to touch freight during deliveries, prioritize safety, and deliver excellent customer service.

  • Pay range: $22.64 - $33.30 hourly (dependent on experience)
What you will be doing:
  • Providing customer support via phone orders, inquiries, tracking shipments, and resolving issues
  • Recommending products and promoting sales of hard goods and gases
  • Conducting product demonstrations and utilizing customer insights for new offerings
  • Supporting the Outside Sales team
  • Maintaining customer records and accurate account setup
  • Performing warehouse duties and moving cylinders as needed
  • Delivering products, making 10-12 stops daily, touching freight, completing paperwork, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Accurately recording delivery and pickup quantities
  • Completing hazardous material shipping documentation per DOT regulations
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Identifying vehicle maintenance needs
  • Building relationships with internal and external customers
  • Continuously learning about Linde's operations to support growth
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Skills / Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Customer service or counter sales experience; industrial setting preferred
  • Knowledge of welding equipment and supplies preferred
  • No recent DUI/DWI or alcohol-related convictions
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience or recent certification from an accredited Truck Driving School
  • Valid Class A or B CDL required
  • Current Hazmat Endorsement preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days
  • No preventable accidents or moving violations in past 2 years
  • Pass DOT physical and obtain medical certificate
  • Ability to lift/move at least 75 pounds
  • Proficient in English reading and writing
  • 21 years or older
  • Effective communication and active listening skills
  • High standards of honesty and integrity
  • Strong safety awareness and contribution to safety culture
  • Positive attitude towards diversity and teamwork
  • Goal-oriented and accountable
