Job summary

AIKEN HIGH SCHOOL in Aiken, South Carolina is seeking an In‑School Suspension Aide to supervise students in the ISS program and provide a structured academic environment. You will monitor behavior, assist with remedial tasks, and help ensure meaningful work for the duration of the ISS period.

Under direct supervision, you will work with the principal and classroom staff, use computers for assigned tasks, and support students' learning while maintaining district policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent; ParaPro preferred.
• Passing ParaPro or equivalent credentials encouraged for highly qualified status.
• Knowledge of child development and ability to support academic work in ISS.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students assigned to In‑School Suspension and maintain order.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce school policies.
• Provide remedial instruction to reinforce learning initiated by teachers.
• Ensure students have meaningful academic work during ISS time.
• Check student work for accuracy, neatness, and understanding.
• Maintain accurate attendance and equipment usage records for ISS.
• Operate office equipment such as computer, copier, and calculator.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
