Job summary

Montage International seeks an In-Room Dining Captain to supervise the daily tasks of In-Room Dining Associates, ensuring accuracy and timely service in a luxury hotel setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of In-Room Dining experience at upscale hotels, with 2-3 years in customer service preferred. Training and growth opportunities are emphasized within the property.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings.

• Order and maintain par levels in In-Room Dining.
• Complete production reports and requisitions.
• Assist with scheduling and labor costs.
• Ensure proper setup and mise en place.
• Inspect daily setup, presentation, and delivery of amenities.
• Control the In-Room Dining servers' workload.
• Maintain cleanliness of In-Room Dining area and assets.
• Support other associates to deliver high levels of service.
• Communicate with kitchen for special needs.
• Deliver guest orders and amenities accurately and timely.
• Perform related duties as directed.

In-Room Dining Captain SUMMARY

The In-Room Dining Captain is responsible for supervising the daily tasks of In-Room Dining Associates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Conducting pre-shift meetings on a daily basis
• Participating in ongoing training of Associates to ensure performance continues to improve and all hotel service standards are consistently being met
• Recognizing outstanding performance by service personnel and handling discipline as per hotel standard operating procedures
• Assisting in ordering and maintaining par levels in the In-Room Dining department
• Completing reports on production, filling out necessary requisitions and controlling distribution of necessary supplies
• Assisting the In-Room Dining Manager with scheduling and controlling labor costs
• Ensuring proper set up of department area, making sure all mise en place is ready so that orders are not delayed
• Inspecting daily set-up, presentation, and delivery of amenities
• Controlling the order load of In-Room Dining Servers
• Maintaining proper condition and cleanliness of In-Room Dining area and assets
• Assisting all other Associates and ensuring they are providing the highest level of customer service
• Communicating with the kitchen regarding any special needs or requests
• Delivering guest orders and amenities in a timely manner with 100% accuracy
• Performing related duties as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent education preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience in In-Room Dining at an upscale hotel required
• 2-3 years’ experience in customer service preferred
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess required state/local compliance certifications
• Must be willing to participate in a learning environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
• Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
