UC Irvine is recruiting for up to two Assistant Professor In Residence positions in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics. The role emphasizes teaching, research, and public service within a major academic medical center.

The incumbent will pursue extramurally funded programs and collaborate across departments. The position encourages leadership in cardiac electrophysiology, multi-disciplinary approaches, and mentorship of medical and graduate students.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in cardiovascular physiology is required.
• At least 5 years post-doctoral research experience in cardiovascular physiology.
• Demonstrated ability to carry out extramurally funded research with current grant funding.
• High level of expertise in cardiac electrophysiology methods (patch-clamp, imaging, ECG analysis).
• Experience with animal models of cardiovascular disease in rodent and non-rodent species.
• Strong teaching experience and evidence of leadership and service to academic communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of extramurally funded research programs in cardiac electrophysiology.
• Engage in grant-supported collaborative studies with other department faculty.
