Job summary

Aptiv in Garden Grove, CA is seeking an In-Process Inspector to ensure conformance across incoming material, WIP, and final assemblies. You will verify wire preparation, contact crimps, and harness assemblies against drawings and customer specs, delivering real-time feedback to prevent defects and support a zero-defect culture.

The role reports to the Quality Lead, requires reading engineering drawings and IPC/WHMA-A-620/J-STD-001 knowledge, and offers a $2/hour second shift differential plus

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of in-process or incoming inspection experience in a high-reliability environment preferred.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform IQC inspections on cable and connectors; record non-conformances.
• Inspect harnesses during WIP to ensure conformance and identify defects.
• Inspect wire prep and contact crimps per IPC/WHMA-J-STD-001 standards.
• Verify conformance against drawings and customer specs during in-process inspection.
• Provide real-time feedback to prevent defects and ensure conformity.
• Document nonconforming products and initiate disposition workflow.
• Record objective evidence in job traveler and quality records.
• Maintain 5S, safe work area and comply with safety and policies.
