Job summary

IDEX is seeking an In-Process Inspector / Process Auditor for 1st Shift in our High Purity & Quality Control operations at the Mott Corporation cleanroom manufacturing environment. You will perform in‑process inspections, enforce quality gates, and support process auditing to uphold a zero‑defect culture.

The role embeds on the production floor and offers growth into advanced quality functions such as process auditing, control validation, and systemic problem solving.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Experience in manufacturing inspection, quality assurance, or similar technical role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of ISO-based quality systems.
• Proficiency with common inspection tools and measurement equipment.
• Understanding of measurement systems, uncertainty, and inspection bias.
• Familiarity with basic data analysis, trending, and SPC concepts.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping discipline.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• In-Process Inspection & Quality Control: Execute inspections per engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, and work instructions.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final verification inspections.
• Ensure inspection integrity through consistent methods, proper handling, and objective evidence.
• Verify inspection equipment readiness and suitability prior to use.
• Capture and record inspection data to support defect tracking and trend analysis.
• Nonconformance Management: Identify nonconformances and initiate containment actions.
• Escalate quality issues in accordance with established procedures.
• Partner with production teams to clarify requirements and reduce repeat defects.
• Process Auditing & Compliance: Conduct routine process audits to confirm adherence to defined standards and operating limits; evaluate production operations against procedures; examine inputs; verify controls; document findings; ensure corrective actions.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining a zero‑defect environment by executing in‑process inspections, enforcing quality gates, and supporting process auditing. Over time, the role expands in scope to include process validation, control verification, and continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact product quality and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• In-Process Inspection & Quality Control

Total Rewards

The starting compensation for this position is $28.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
