Qualifications
1–3 years in a PCBA or electronic assembly environment.
Excellent visual acuity and high manual dexterity.
Responsibilities
Use high‑power microscopes to verify solder joint integrity.
Perform setup and result verifications for AOI and AXI machines.
Review and approve the first unit of a new production run.
Identify non‑conformities and maintain detailed inspection logs.
Perform solder touch‑ups and repairs using manual soldering irons.
Visual & Soldering Inspection: Use high‑power microscopes to verify solder joint integrity (e.g., fillets, wetting) and component placement against industry standards such as IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001.
Automated Inspection Verification: Perform setup and result verifications for Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and X‑ray (AXI) machines to detect defects like shorts, opens, and tombstoning.
First Article Inspection (FAI): Review and approve the first unit of a new production run to ensure it strictly meets customer blueprints and the Bill of Materials (BOM).
Defect Reporting & Logging: Identify non‑conformities, trigger corrective actions via non‑conformance reports (NCR), and maintain detailed inspection logs to ensure complete accountability.
Rework & Hand Soldering: Perform solder touch‑ups and repairs using manual soldering irons for component removal and replacement.
Required Technical Skills
Industry Standards Proficiency: Expertise in IPC‑A‑610 (acceptability criteria) and J‑STD‑001 (soldering requirements).
Technical Reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and detailed customer specifications.
Safety Protocols: Strict adherence to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention.
Qualifications
