The Division of Rehabilitation is seeking to hire a Staff Interpreter at the Illinois School for the Deaf to provide sign language interpreting services between deaf/hard of hearing persons and hearing persons in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities include interpreting for meetings, IEPs, trainings, and events, coordinating schedules, and maintaining confidentiality. This is a fully in-office, salaried role within the Department of Human Services.

Competenze

• Requires valid Advanced Proficiency Interpreter License or higher.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in disabilities or behavioral health.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Mansioni

• Provide sign language interpreting between deaf/hard of hearing and hearing individuals in various settings.
• Interpret for staff, students, parents in meetings and off-campus courses as requested.
• Coordinate interpreter schedules for school events and trainings.
• Support IEP meetings and related sessions with accurate interpretation.
• Perform other duties as required within the scope of duties.
