Job summary

Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) invites applications for qualified adjunct faculty to teach courses in the PED program, in-person. Adjunct faculty support student learning by delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining accurate academic records, and fostering an inclusive, respectful learning environment.

Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend, hybrid, or online courses depending on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• Teach assigned courses in PED in alignment with departmental outcomes, accreditation standards, and institutional policies.
• Develop and deliver engaging instruction using current teaching methodologies and learning technologies.
• Provide students with clear instructions for all assignments and return graded work with meaningful feedback within one week of the due date.
• Maintain accurate attendance records in Self-Service and certify attendance by required institutional deadlines.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date grade records in Moodle throughout the semester.
• Uphold confidentiality of all student information in FERPA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in PED in alignment with departmental outcomes and policies.
• Develop and deliver engaging instruction using current teaching methodologies and learning technologies.
• Provide students with clear instructions for assignments and return graded work within one week of the due date.
• Maintain attendance and grade records in college systems and Moodle.
• Foster an inclusive learning environment respectful of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
• Post course syllabus in Moodle and provide printed copies for in-person students.
• Communicate with students and employees using the college email within 24–48 hours.
