Job summary

Nova Workforce is seeking English as a Second Language (ESL) instructors to teach in-person Part Time ESL courses at ACLI. Courses range from CEFR A1-C1 and emphasize readiness for life, school, and work.

This is an in-person position with multiple campuses (Alexandria, Annandale, Loudoun, Manassas, Woodbridge). Applicants may join on a semester/project basis; future openings depend on need.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + TESOL certificate or higher in TESOL or Linguistics.
• 1–2 years of adult ESL teaching experience at a college/community college/literacy council/adult education ESOL.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person Part-Time ESL courses (50 hrs per semester).
• Demonstrate student-centered, communicative teaching methodologies (task-based, problem-based, project-based, scaffolding, content-based).
• Align instruction and materials with departmental curriculum and learning objectives.
• Design formative assessments and use Canvas for course information and storage of assignments/resources.
• Integrate textbooks with authentic, level-appropriate materials.
• Evaluate entry/exit skills via diagnostics and department exams and rubrics.
• Record student attendance and complete mandatory trainings.
