Job summary

CLOVEHITCH on the island of Oahu seeks qualified Medical Interpreters to provide in-person interpretation in healthcare settings for diverse clients. Proficiency in English and target language (ILR 2+) is required, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and neutrality.

The role includes reporting hours, complying with contract requirements, and potential background checks or clearances. Limited to U.S. workers; standard business hours apply Monday–Friday, with occasional client-site travel.

Qualifications

• Must have working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and target language.
• May be required to obtain a T2, Public Trust clearance.
• Prior experience in medical interpretation strongly preferred.
• Experience interpreting in healthcare, clinical, or hospital settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, impartial in-person interpretation between healthcare providers and patients.
• Facilitate communication of diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures.
• Serve as a neutral liaison to ensure mutual understanding among parties.
• Adhere to interpreter ethics, including confidentiality and impartiality.
• Accurately report hours worked and complete required documentation.
