Job summary

LifeBook Memoirs is seeking a freelance interviewer in Deerfield Beach, FL for a seven-month, part-time contract. You will conduct in-home sessions with authors to draw out their stories, which will be transformed into autobiographies by a ghostwriter.

14 meetings are scheduled over seven months, with most sessions 90 minutes and two 120-minute sessions for photo scanning. You’ll record, prepare, upload audio, and collaborate with a virtual team.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent listening and verbal communication abilities.
• Discreet, confidential handling of client information.
• Comfort with using recording devices and uploading files.
• Able to travel to clients within ~30 minutes of the author’s location.
• Commitment to the full seven-month project duration and to adhere to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Guide authors to tell their life stories in a logical, engaging way.
• Attend 14 interviews over seven months, with majority lasting 90 minutes.
• Record sessions, prepare, upload audio, and scan amendments for the ghostwriter.
• Coordinate with the team and complete training provided.
