Title/Designation: Embedded System Design Engineer
Duration: 3 Months+

Location: Columbia MD 21046

Responsibilities:

  1. Extensive hands-on experience for debugging and testing all parts of analog & digital design.
  2. Work closely with CAD designer, board fab & assembly vendors.
  3. Guide Mechanical design for enclosures.
  4. Create clear and concise HW design documentation, specified or derived requirements from customer-level documentation, schematics, detailed design, BOMs and Parts Lists, verification test plans and reports.
  5. Review and evaluate supplier/vendor documentation and provide suggested courses of action to upper management for all HW-related components.
  6. Familiar with Compliance standards (MIL, SAE, FCC, EN).
  7. Evaluate unit failures and implement corrective actions.
  8. Evaluate component product change notifications and source alternate components.
  9. Implement modifications to automated test equipment and test software.
  10. Process and release schematics, drawings and documentation through configuration management.
  11. Manage vendor issues and verify compliance with quality standards.

Experience:

  1. Minimum 6 years experience in digital board development using CPLD, clocks, switches.
  2. Experience with Xilinx/Altera CPLD tools and switching power supply design of DC/DC converters.
  3. Experience with schematic capture software ORCAD.
  4. Awareness of signal integrity and EMI/EMC issues.
  5. Experience with thermal design and heat sinks.
  6. Experience using scope, logic analyzer.
  7. Experience with Labview.
  8. Experience in a production support role, electronics manufacturing or automated test design.
