Job summary

Wipfli LLP in Rockford, IL is seeking an in-person accounting internship with hands-on audit exposure. You will respond to client requests, assist with data gathering, and perform procedures under the guidance of engagement leaders.

You will gain hands-on audit experience, learn to work with various client industries, and develop professional skills to prepare for CPA certification and a future as a trusted advisor.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting with required tax coursework.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Working toward CPA eligibility upon graduation.
• Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data.
• Ability to think independently and make good decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients and staff.
• Ability to prioritize, follow through and meet deadlines.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Answer client and firm requests promptly and professionally.
• Gather information from clients to complete required documents.
• Use data analysis to identify patterns and support recommendations.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to boost efficiency.
• Audit testing procedures in line with standards and engagement leaders.
• Communicate open items or issues with engagement leaders.
• Prepare or review financial statements, footnotes, and management reports.
• Develop GAAP competency related to assigned product line.
