Job summary

NTC Language Services is seeking reliable in-person Educational Interpreters for Albanian in Eastern Suffolk County, NY. Roles are part-time, as-needed, with travel to assignments and a starting pay of $35.00 per hour.

Interpreters will work with students, families, educators, and school staff to facilitate clear communication. Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak proficiently in English and Albanian, interpret accurately, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and speak proficiently in English and Albanian.
• Interpret spoken communication accurately between both languages.
• Maintain confidentiality with students and families.
• Travel to in-person assignments within Eastern Suffolk County, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation at parent-teacher conferences, CSE/CPSE meetings, and school events.
• Interpret for student evaluations, registrations, and enrollment appointments.
• Assist in school orientations, family engagement events, and counseling meetings.
• Remain neutral and preserve meaning and tone of the original communication.
• Follow district policies and dress code for professional interpretation sessions.
