Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Medicare, managed care and third-party payer systems.

• Familiarity with provider and payment portals (Availity, PaySpan, Echo Payments).
• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum age 18.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and follow-through.
• Clear professional written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for new and existing patients; share findings with the clinician.
• Process credit card payments for copays and patient balances.
• Assist patients with past-due accounts and payment plans.
• Investigate and resolve denied claims to secure reimbursement.
• Coordinate with clinicians to obtain insurance authorizations.
• Submit claims accurately and on schedule.
• Complete and follow up on EAP billing forms and invoices.
• Communicate with clients, insurers, and billing stakeholders via phone, email, and portal.
• Review provider billing entries for accuracy.
• Monitor aging receivables and reduce average days outstanding.
• Respond to payer inquiries in a timely, organized manner.
• Log and attribute insurance and patient receipts correctly.
• Collaborate with billing supervisor to improve workflows.
• Maintain knowledge of evolving billing regulations and participate in trainings.
