  • Ensures accurate patient identification, proper labeling, processing, handling, and transport of specimens.
  • May assist in recovering patients and rapid response to emergencies in inpatient settings.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and care teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Handles sharps and biohazardous materials per regulatory requirements for safety.
  • Works with computer systems and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs additional test administration and specimen collection as assigned.

Job Summary

In-Patient: 1:00pm-9:30pm


Fulltime 40 hours


Monday-Friday with rotating every 3rd weekend

Essential Functions


  • Obtains quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups.

  • Ensures accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, processing, handling, and transportation of specimens.

  • May assist in the recovery of patients experiencing adverse reactions and provide a rapid response to medical emergencies in the inpatient setting.

  • Communicates effectively with patients and patient care teams, explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Handles sharps and biohazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

  • Works fluently with computer programs and systems, and complies with HIPAA regulations.

  • Performs other test administration and specimen collection as assigned.
