Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an In-Patient Coder to perform hospital (acute) inpatient coding, data entry, and abstraction. You will code CABG, Ortho, and Med cases and use the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline processes.

The role requires accuracy, communication, and flexibility across sites. Essential functions include DRG assignment, physician query generation, medical necessity review, and maintaining up-to-date problem lists per client contracts.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases REQUIRED.
• Experience working with 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.
• Meets Quality and Productivity standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes and DRG.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties.
