Job summary

People Inc. Food Studios in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Test Kitchen Assistant to support recipe testers and developers in recipe development, nutrition analysis, grocery shopping, video shoots, and taste tests across brands. This is a fully onsite position requiring daily physical presence in the studio.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. A culinary degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in culinary arts or equivalent professional cooking experience.
• Experience writing recipes in a consistent style and troubleshooting recipes.
• Strong knowledge of foods, cuisines, techniques and equipment.
• Social media experience and comfort with digital content.

Responsibilities

• Manage market orders and grocery shopping; stock pantries and storage in the kitchens.
• Develop, test, and prepare recipes; write hooks and on-camera dialogue for videos.
• Develop and test recipes across brand content; deliver annotated recipes with nutrition and photos.
• Assist on photo shoots to ensure accurate food styling and execution.
• File expense reports for accounting purposes.
