Job summary

People Inc. Food Studios in Birmingham, AL seeks a Test Kitchen Assistant to support recipe testers and developers in recipe development, nutritional analysis, grocery shopping, video shoots, and taste tests across brands. The role is fully onsite in our state-of-the-art facility.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced production environment, and should be comfortable coordinating with the production team, writers, and photographers to deliver polished, on-brand content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in culinary field.
• Strong knowledge of diverse cuisines and equipment.
• Proficient in recipe development and writing.
• Social media content experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• 30%: Manage market orders and grocery shopping; stock shared pantries and cold storage in kitchens, coordinating with Test Kitchen Coordinator.
• 30%: Develop, test, and prepare recipes; write engaging hooks, scripts, and on-camera dialogue for hosted social video content.
• 30%: Develop and test recipes across People Inc. print and digital brands; deliver annotated recipes with content deliverables, nutritional analysis, and photos.
• 5%: Advise on photo shoots to ensure food/recipes are executed as intended; may assist as food styling.
