Job summary

Allstate Insurance seeks an Early Career Trial Attorney to defend insureds and the company in bodily injury, property damage, and related lawsuits. You will handle arbitrations, mediations, and occasional trials while advising business clients and coordinating across legal teams.

You will monitor new laws, stay ahead of regulatory changes, and contribute to strategic defense efforts in this dynamic, in-house role.

Qualifications

• Excellent time management to balance multiple deadlines.
• Organize case files and manage discovery processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions.
• Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
• Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Interview clients and witnesses, and draft summaries of statements and maintain communication records.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.
• Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to more complex legal work
• Provide legal opinions to claims clients.
• Conduct depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents.
