Job summary

The City of Miami’s Office of the City Attorney seeks a Florida-licensed attorney to join its in-house team to handle all aspects of civil tort litigation from inception through post-trial motions.

The successful candidate will actively manage cases through discovery, depositions, ADR, and trial, with opportunities to broaden into complex areas including commercial disputes, civil rights, constitutional law, and land use.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• 3–7 years of litigation experience.
• Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
• First-chair trial experience.
• Municipal or local government experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of civil tort litigation from inception through post-trial motions.
• Actively manage cases through discovery, depositions, ADR, and trial.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and administrative staff.
• Opportunity to expand practice into complex areas such as commercial disputes, civil rights, constitutional law, and land use.
