Job Description

To sub in for various staff and faculty as needed in order to plan, organize, and implement appropriate instructional programs in a middle/high school environment. Collaborate with faculty to promote student success and attendance through engagement initiatives and absenteeism intervention strategies. Work under the supervision of the Battalion Commander/Principal, guiding and encouraging cadets to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials.
  2. Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests aligned with established procedures.
  3. Instruct and monitor cadets in learning materials and equipment.
  4. Utilize relevant technology to support differentiated instruction.
  5. Manage cadet behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  6. Maintain discipline according to curriculum rules and disciplinary systems.
  7. Provide feedback on work orally and in writing.
  8. Encourage and monitor individual cadet progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
  9. Keep accurate records of cadets' progress and development.
  10. Update necessary records as required by laws, policies, and regulations.
  11. Prepare reports on cadets and activities.
  12. Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
  13. Communicate regularly with cadets, colleagues, and parents about progress and needs.
  14. Establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
  15. Prepare classroom for activities and provide varied learning resources.
  16. Observe and evaluate cadet performance and development.
  17. Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments.
  18. Work effectively with cadets from diverse backgrounds.
  19. Encourage parent and community involvement, responding promptly to inquiries.
  20. Participate in professional development and extracurricular activities.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.
