Job summary

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school and USPTO registration.
• 8+ years of patent prosecution experience in law firm or life sciences setting.
• Technical background in molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or related field.
• Experience with India, China, and emerging markets a plus.
• Strong legal, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IP strategies for AbbVie’s products.
• Provide legal advice to R&D and business teams on IP matters.
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide.
• Manage post-grant proceedings and defend patents.
• Conduct prior art searches and support business development due diligence.
