This is a unique opportunity for a litigator with both in-house and law firm experience to jump in and play a key role in managing a docket of litigation. The successful candidate should have experience litigating/managing personal injury and premises liability matters in-house and/or in a law firm settling. The role will require managing a portfolio of cases, working with outside counsel, overseeing settlement strategy and negotiations. This will be a part-time opportunity (likely 15 to 20 hours per week). It will likely last somewhere between three to six months. It is a remote position with a few days of initial training in Atlanta likely required. The successful candidate can be located anywhere in the Eastern half of the United States.

Responsibilities of the In-House Litigation Counsel (contract and remote)

  • Assist in overseeing strategy and defense of litigation matters in state and federal courts and administrative forums
  • Manage outside counsel related to existing litigation
  • Manage incident tracking and reporting
  • Advise in-house team on litigation matters, including recommending settlement terms

Requirements for In-House Litigation Counsel (contract and remote)

  • At least eight years of litigation experience, preferably with both a law firm litigation practice group as well as in-house within a corporate legal department
  • Experience litigating personal injury and premises liability claims and managing a docket of such in-house
  • J.D. from accredited, preferably top-tier, law school
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting

Position Details for In-House Litigation Counsel (contract and remote)

Compensation

The annualized compensation for this position ranges from $180,000 to $210,000 or more. Pay is based on numerous factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials and location. In addition to salary, Latitude Engaged Professionals are W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401k plan. Benefits-eligible Latitude employees receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D and professional liability insurance. Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
