Job summary

LIASE Group in Detroit seeks an experienced civil litigator to join its in-house Legal Department as a Litigation Attorney. You will manage a diverse portfolio of general liability matters and collaborate with outside counsel on strategy, budgets and outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of civil litigation experience, JD from an accredited law school, an active bar license, and a practical, commercially minded approach to risk and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal practice.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Strong knowledge of tort law, litigation practice, insurance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage matters from pre-litigation through resolution.
• Liaise with outside counsel on strategy, budgets and performance.
• Participate in mediations, depositions, hearings and trials.
• Collaborate with Risk Management, Operations, HR and stakeholders.
• Advise on liability, insurance, indemnification, contracts and compliance.
• Identify trends and implement strategies to reduce risk.
