Job summary

Huntsville City Schools is seeking an In House Learning Center Assistant to support teachers in classrooms and resource centers across school facilities. You will supervise students during instruction, lunch, and activities, and assist in implementing lesson plans with individual or small groups under teacher direction.

Qualifications include an Associate's degree or higher, or two years of college study, or WorkKeys scores in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists with the general supervision of students inside and outside the classroom during instruction, lunch, recess, and activities.
• Works directly with students individually or in groups to administer lesson plans and reinforce mastery of concepts.
• Participates in development and planning of lesson plans and instructional activities under teacher direction.
• Prepares and arranges materials, equipment, and resources for instructional use and maintains an organized learning environment.
• Assists students with personal hygiene needs and related routines as appropriate.
• Assists in planning and scheduling class field trips and approved educational activities; guides students in applying learning experiences.
• Assists with the use and care of technology and district equipment as directed.
• Participates in required professional development activities as assigned.
• Performs other related job duties as required by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with the general supervision of students both inside and outside the classroom during instruction, lunch, recess, special activities, etc. for the purpose of enforcing appropriate rules and procedures in accordance with district policies, maintaining clear standards of student behavior, and achieving an orderly, functional environment conducive to

QUALIFICATIONS

An Associate's degree (or higher) OR two years of full-time study at an institution of higher education OR passing test scores in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics on the WorkKeys assessment. Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
