Job summary

California Coast Credit Union seeks an in-house Staff Attorney in San Diego to provide legal guidance across corporate, contractual, employment, governance, and financial services matters.

You will draft and negotiate contracts, coordinate with outside counsel, support regulatory matters, and train teams on legal risk. California licensure is required, and in-house experience with financial institutions is preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California is required and must be maintained.
• Three to five years of legal experience, including corporate, commercial, employment, financial services, banking.
• In-house experience with financial institutions is preferred.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical, business-oriented legal advice to management and business units.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret contracts and other legal documents.
• Coordinate and manage relationships with outside counsel.
• Support litigation, regulatory inquiries, investigations, and dispute resolution.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the financial services industry.
