Job summary

Success Academy Charter Schools in New York, NY seeks a Legal Counsel to join its collaborative Advisory Legal team. Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state, with admission to NY Bar or eligible for NY in-house qualification.
• At least four years of legal experience including in-house, nonprofit, and/or BigLaw.

Responsibilities

• Advise on legal questions touching all aspects of operations, including expansion, compliance, charter management, and day-to-day operations.
• Manage regulatory reporting to authorizers and government agencies.
• Support advocacy and lobbying efforts.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements.
• Advise on data privacy issues and conduct legal research/writing.
