Fidelity National Financial, Inc. seeks an Attorney to join our Claims Counsel team in an in-office role located in Omaha, NE or Jacksonville, FL.

The attorney will investigate title claims, determine coverage, and steer settlements with claimants and counsel. You'll guide outside counsel on litigation strategy, manage budgets, and pursue recovery opportunities while collaborating with title officers, lenders and clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Current 3L law student expected to graduate in 2027 and sit for Fall 2027 bar.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, or eligible to obtain licensure after Fall 2027.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, client service, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Investigating the facts and issues of a claim, including communicating with title officers, escrow officers, lenders, claimants, and other counsel.
• Determining whether coverage exists and evaluating loss under the title policy.
• Developing and carrying out a plan to resolve the claim.
• Negotiate settlements and resolutions with claimants, opposing counsels, and third parties.
• Directing outside counsel on litigation strategy through the course of claim administration and litigation.
• Appear as company representative in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Managing the claim budget, review and approve outside counsel invoices and other expenses, and determine settlement and expense reserves.
• Identify and pursue sources for recovery.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, business partners, and colleagues.
• Current 3L law students expected to graduate in 2027 and sit for the Fall 2027 bar examination are encouraged to apply.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, or eligible to obtain licensure upon successful completion of the Fall 2027 bar examination.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
