Job summary

RIDE is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to provide legal guidance on employment matters, commercial contracts, disputes, and litigation related to its commercial vehicle business in Los Angeles. The role involves reviewing and negotiating agreements, advising on risks and compliance, and supporting cross‑department teams including HR, Sales, and Operations.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant legal experience in employment, contracts, or litigation.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Experience managing employment-related claims or litigation.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and collaborate across departments.
• Excellent communication and business-oriented problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Employment matters: manage claims, disputes, and litigation; advise on employee relations and compliance.
• Commercial contracts: draft and negotiate EV, PV, ESS equipment sales/leases, SaaS, and other contracts.
• Contract disputes: manage post-contract disputes including performance, warranties, damages.
• Litigation management: coordinate with outside counsel and support strategy, discovery, settlements.
• Legal risk & compliance: advise on laws, obligations, and company policies; assess risks.
• Business support: provide day-to-day legal guidance to HR, Sales, Operations and others.
• Outside counsel management: liaison, monitor strategy, and expenses.
• General legal support: assist senior leadership on legal projects and policy development.
