Latitude Legal is recruiting for an in-house Corporate Counsel for its client, a fast-growing, publicly traded banking and technology company serving regulated industries, located in Austin, Texas. This hybrid role offers a path for growth and 2–3 days per week in the Austin office.

The attorney will handle commercial contracts, support M&A due diligence, and advise on compliance and business risk. Requires a J.D., active bar in good standing, and 3+ years of transactional experience.

Qualifications

Located in Austin, Texas, this hybrid role offers a rare opportunity for transactional attorneys to transition out of the billable hour grind and step into a highly collaborative, lean legal department with a direct path for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

As a generalist Corporate Counsel, the selected candidate will enjoy broad ownership across the organization's legal functions. Primary duties include:

• Commercial Contracts: Drafting, reviewing, interpreting, revising, and negotiating a diverse range of technology and services agreements across various business units.
• M&A Support: Assisting with due diligence and transaction-related matters to support the company's rapid expansion.
• Advisory & Compliance: Providing day-to-day legal guidance on business risk, internal policies, compliance questions, and cross-functional projects.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Hold an active bar membership in good standing.
• Have at least 3+ years of transactional legal experience gained within a law firm or an in-house corporate legal department.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience drafting and negotiating commercial technology and services agreements.
• Exhibit a practical, business-minded approach to legal problem-solving.
• Prior exposure to M&A transactions or due diligence processes is considered a strong plus, though not strictly required.

Compensation and Work Structure

This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring 2 to 3 days per week in the Austin, TX office. The position offers:

• A competitive base salary range of $150,000 to $170,000 per annum.
