Job summary

Rocket, a Detroit-based company, invites a Legal Contracts Intern to work with its in-house Legal team on commercial contracting and business operations. You will draft, review, and redline various agreements and collaborate with attorneys to assess terms and risks in a fast-paced corporate environment.

During the internship, you’ll contribute to contract templates, research legal considerations, and develop training resources for business partners while gaining exposure to the end-to-end

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a JD program with interest in corporate, commercial, or transactional law.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with attorneys and business partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting, reviewing, and redlining commercial agreements, including consulting, service, technology, confidentiality, and sponsorship agreements.
• Partner with attorneys to research and evaluate contractual terms, legal considerations, and potential areas of risk.
• Support the development and maintenance of contract templates, standard language, and other legal resources.
• Gain exposure to the contract lifecycle and how Legal partners with teams across the business.
• Assist with legal research and special projects based on evolving business and team needs.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives designed to make legal and contracting workflows more efficient.
• Help create and maintain resources and training materials for business partners and team members.]
