Job summary

The Arc Eastern Connecticut is seeking In-Home Support Specialists to help individuals achieve maximum independence. You will assist with daily activities, personal care, and transportation, while supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans in Norwich, CT.

This role requires a valid driver's license and strong communication skills. Schedule includes Fridays 4:00pm-8:00pm and Sat/Sun 8:00am-4:00pm, with a supportive training environment and opportunities for career advancement within a inclusive

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred.
• Must be able to mentor and assist people in life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• English speaking/writing ability required.

Responsibilities

• Daily activities such as meal preparation and planning.
• Personal care.
• Facilitating community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community.
• Providing transportation to recreational and community activities.
• Supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans.
