Qualifications

• Must have a valid Speech Language Pathologist license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.
• Must possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow.
• Must have a valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patients' residence

Responsibilities

• Supervision of CFYs temporary licensees, students and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
• Adheres to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.
• Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other related meetings.
• Makes referrals to other disciplines, agencies to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.
• Consults with rehabilitation team and physician to select appropriate therapeutic regimen.
• Adapts program and plan of care according to patient needs.
• Promotes a safe environment and enforces elimination of hazards.
• Orders supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Cleans, maintains and reports repair needs for equipment.
• Delivers high-quality service in a compassionate atmosphere addressing patient rights.
• Assesses patients, develops treatment goals, implements plan, and documents progress.
• Coordinates acquisition of adaptive communication devices and instructs patients in their use.
• Coordinates care in the home/community with interdisciplinary team.
