Job summary

Empower U. seeks a Personal Care Assistant to support children and young adults with developmental disabilities in in-home settings across New Jersey. You will provide hands-on care, companionship, and guidance during after-school, evening, and weekend hours.

This role emphasizes compassionate care, reliable transportation, and strong communication with families and team members. Compensation ranges from $19 to $22 per hour, with paid training and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years’ experience as a Personal Care Assistant preferred.
• Experience with children with developmental disabilities a plus.
• CPR certification and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to youth with developmental needs.
• Engage youth in community outings and social skills activities.
• Assist with daily living activities and maintain safety.
• Communicate with families, team members, and supervisors.
• Complete documentation and follow agency policies.
