Job summary

The Wellington Agency is seeking a Private Special Needs Educator in Denver, CO for an immediate start. The role focuses on individualized academics within a private household, supporting neurodivergent students, emotional regulation, and sensory needs.

The educator will design an individualized curriculum, provide core instruction, and collaborate with therapists and parents. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in private education or similar settings, fluent English, and strong references.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in private special education or private household settings.
• Experience with gifted, neurodivergent, twice-exceptional, or special-needs children.
• Background in special education, occupational therapy, sensory processing, or behavioral support.
• Fluent English; Spanish strongly preferred; Swedish is a plus
• Clean driving record and background check, strong references, able to work in a private family environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized curriculum aligned with the child’s abilities, interests and learning style.
• Teach core academics while fostering critical thinking, creativity, independence and love of learning.
• Support executive functioning, sensory needs, emotional regulation and social development.
• Incorporate hands-on learning, outings, museums and cultural experiences into education.
• Transport child to therapies and appointments; coordinate schedules and communicate progress.
