Job summary

Kauai Care Center in Waimea, HI seeks a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, following state laws and the defined treatment plan.

You will observe patient responses, educate patients and families, participate in treatment planning, and assist with procedures to ensure safe, effective rehabilitation for residents.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted PTA license in the assigned State.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and aids patients in exercises, gait training, functional activities and ADLs.
• Observes, records and reports patient responses and changes to the supervising PT.
• Educates patient, family and care team to participate in therapy.
• Visits patients according to Plan of Treatment and documents daily notes.
• Assists the PT in procedures and tests to ensure safe, effective treatment.
