Job summary

Visiting Angels Paris, TX is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to support seniors in Paris, Greenville, Texarkana and surrounding communities. You will provide non-medical care, companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep and transportation assistance to help clients stay safely at home.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, strong communication skills and reliable transportation. Training in First Aid and emergency response is valued, and you will work within state health and safety

Responsibilities

• Manage light housekeeping to keep client homes safe and clean.
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
• Prompt clients to take medications on schedule.
• Assist with shopping and groceries or run errands.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients based on abilities.
• Assist with mobility and accompany clients to appointments or walks.
• Report health changes quickly and accurately in line with policy.

A Visiting Angels In Home Personal Aide wears many hats as they help our elderly and home-care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity.
While no two client visits look exactly alike, responsibilities may include:

• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks

An In Home Personal Aide must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. This includes adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances. Our caregivers possess the ideal blend of competency, compassion, and professional discernment.
