Job summary

Visiting Angels of Hurst is seeking compassionate In Home Patient Care Assistants to support clients across the HEB area, including Bedford and nearby towns. You will perform personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and companionship in clients' homes.

Flexible schedules, competitive wages from $16 to $19 per hour, and opportunities for dementia or Alzheimer's training. Full-time benefits available after 90 days, with paid time off and bi-weekly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license to reach client homes.
• Able to manage multiple duties with good time management.
• Physically capable of assisting with mobility and daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.

• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Report health changes or incidents.

• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take medications as prescribed.

Role
As a Visiting Angels In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA Job Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation and current driver’s license to get to and from client homes at the times you are scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to tasks like carrying groceries and transferring a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary requirements
• Be willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client
