Job summary

Visiting Angels of Hurst is hiring a Patient Care Aide (PCA) to support seniors in the HEB area, including Euless, Hurst, Bedford and surrounding communities.

The role offers flexible Day/Evening shifts and weekends with full-time availability. Benefits after 90 days, PTO, and training are provided to qualifying staff.

Responsibilities include personal care, light housekeeping, medication reminders, shopping, meal planning, mobility support, and reporting health changes promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Reliable transportation to client visits.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Manage light housekeeping around the home.
• Prompt clients to take medications on schedule.
• Assist with shopping and putting away groceries or shop for them.
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation, including doctor visits and walks.
• Report health changes and unusual circumstances promptly in emergencies.

A Visiting Angels Patient Care Aide - PCA wears many hats as they help our elderly and home‑care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity.

While no two client visits are alike, responsibilities may include:

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks

A Patient Care Aide - PCA must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. This includes adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances. Our caregivers possess the ideal blend of competency, compassion, and professional discernment.
