Job summary

Ochsner Home Health of New Orleans, part of LHC Group and the Optum family, seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide in-home therapy, helping patients regain their fullest physical ability and supporting families and care teams. Primary responsibilities include following physician plans, documenting patient responses, instructing patients and caregivers, and ensuring care complies with state laws.

LA requires 2+ years of OT experience and a valid OTA licensure.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver's license with accessible vehicle or reliable transportation.
• LA state requires 2+ years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing occupational therapy in home care and treatment plans defined by supervising OT.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to nurse supervisor and physician.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and health care team in therapy within OTA scope.
• Function in diverse home environments regardless of patient demographics.
• Support development for other roles and provide clear direction for success.
