Job summary

SMH-Ochsner Home Health of Slidell (a part of LHC Group) is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide occupational therapy in home health settings. The OTA will implement treatment plans under supervision, ensure patient progress, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to support patient outcomes.

Required: OTA licensure in Louisiana, CPR preferred within 90 days, and ability to manage multiple tasks with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing occupational therapy in home health and the supervising OT's plan of care.
• Instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the OTA scope.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to supervisor and physician.
• Educate patient, family, and health-care team in therapy areas within OTA scope.
